At the beginning of 2017, I decided to go back to school and study oil painting. I couldn’t get into a painting class, so last minute I signed up for a photography class! At the end of the semester my husband said, “You know, you’re a better photographer than you are painter…” I was SO scared to change my major, because I was comfortable with the idea of painting on the “side” when I had time. I realized that since I had small kids, painting was unrealistic at the moment. I knew studying photography would be the more challenging route and push me out of my comfort zone.
Doing something for myself, especially as a mom going back to school, learning about photography has helped me be a better mom! For the first time in my life I really love learning, and I feel like photography is a constant learning process! I am a social butterfly and artist at heart, and I think that is why I am obsessed with photography. I get to meet and be friends with so many people, and I love the creative side of taking pictures and editing.
